RUMA FAIR

Ruma Fair represents a kind of brand of our municipality today.

The beginning of holding the fair dates back to 1747, through the privilege given to the city by Empress Maria Theresa.

With this privilege, four dates for the fair were established. After the Second World War, the practice of holding this event was imagined to take place every month. Every third of the month, people come from all over Serbia and the surrounding area to sell or buy, or just to feel the famous fair atmosphere.

About 30,000 people often parade through the fair, which means that there are almost two cities as Ruma in one.

The fair offers a unique form of entertainment, open to the masses, with literally everything from needles to locomotives, people come to buy and sell horses, cattle, agricultural machinery, hunting and fishing equipment, quality leather saddles, fruit seedlings, vegetable seeds, garden sets, wine and brandy barrels, flowers.

Ruma Fair is one of the strongest fairs of its type in Europe.

Ruma’s Fair is a centuries-old symbol of Ruma, which recently, due to the great interest of sellers and buyers from our country and the surrounding countries, has extended its duration to two days, the 2nd and 3rd of the month.

RUMFEST

Organized by the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Ruma, an event called “Rumfest” is held on the City Square in Ruma.

The best Fruška Gora wines and culinary specialties in the spirit of the tradition of this region are offered for tasting and sold at numerous stands. The local exhibitors are joined at their booths by representatives of other popular events such as the Turian “Kobasicijada” (sausage festival), the Kovilja “Rakijada”, the Mangalica Day from Zasavica or the “Wine Day” from Rivica.

Citizens of the municipality of Ruma and numerous guests can enjoy a rich cultural and artistic program, along with wine tasting and culinary specialties.

CHRISTMAS STREET

Christmas Street is a manifestation that connects Catholic and Orthodox Christmas.

For this occasion, a street of wooden houses with about 30 stalls is formed on the Town Square.

On this occasion, numerous exhibitors present themselves with a variety of offers – culinary specialties, wine, brandy, honey.

FESTIVAL OF TAMBOURINE ORCHESTRAS

The Festival of Tambourine Orchestras of Serbia is a manifestation that has been receiving that name since 1989, previously this was an evening of tambura orchestras of the Festival of Music Societies of Vojvodina.

The festival is held in the month of October, in two festival evenings, in the large hall of the Cultural Center with a total of 10 to 12 large tambourine orchestras.

The organizer is the Cultural Center of Ruma.

DAYS OF SLAVIC LITERACY

ART TREMA FEST

Art Trema Fest Ruma is a kind of revue of theatrical author projects. It brings together camera performances by students of the Academy of Arts, performances by academic theaters and productions by cultural institutions. The festival was founded in 1998 and is very important for the development of art and creativity among young people, as well as all those interested in theater and art in general.

This festival affirms the work of art academies in the region. The festival takes place at the end of March in the Cultural Center of Ruma.

The organizer is the City Theater of Ruma in cooperation with the Cultural Center, the City Library of Ruma, and the Native Museum of Ruma.

INTERNATIONAL ONE-MINUTE AND SHORT FILM FESTIVAL “MISTER VORKY”

On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of Slavoljub-Slavko Vorkapić, Serbian-American film editor, director and pedagogue, born in Dobrinci, near Ruma, in 2014 the Vorky team of Ruma founded the International Festival of one-minute and short films “Mister Vorky”.

The goal of the Festival is to present the author’s film in the shortest form and all types, genres, and genres of the seventh art (fiction, animation, documentary, experimental…) In addition to the best one-minute films, from 2020 short films longer than a minute and shorter than 25 minutes will be shown in the competition program called “9413”.

Ruma cultural summer

The traditional event “Roman Cultural Summer” is held throughout the summer at several locations. The program of the event includes various types of events: concerts by musical artists, theater performances, art exhibitions, and literary events.

The sponsor of the event is the Municipality of Ruma, the cultural center “Brana Crnčević”, the Native Museum of Ruma, the City library “Atanasije Stojković” and the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Ruma participate in the implementation of the program.

Adrenalin Race

Adrenaline race is a race in which, in addition to running, the competitor must also overcome various physical hurdles. Challenges are in the form of climbing a wall, carrying heavy objects, running through water, and crawling under barbed wire.

Many of the obstacles are similar to those used in special forces training. The aim of this competition is to allow participants to test their fitness, strength, speed, and persistence.

Breskvica – Srem cake

On the occasion of the midsummer festival in Klenka, in the municipality of Ruma, an event called “Peach – Srem cake” is held. The organizer of the event is the Women’s Association “Ljiljan” from Klenak. ,,Ljiljan” wants this old-fashioned cake, which is increasingly returning to our tables, to become their trademark. An event where, in addition to numerous delicious cakes, you can taste the juiciest peaches.

Bostanijada

The event “Bostanijada” gathers producers of orchards, agro foil, watering systems, and other producers in the area of ​​orchard production in one place. The event has a fun-competitive nature and within it, various competitions are held: the biggest watermelon, the biggest melon, and the best strudel.

Harvest Kraljevci
