Tourist attractions

Various resources in the area of the municipality of Ruma and its surroundings provide great opportunities for the development of various types of tourism: from cultural, through sports and recreation, nautical, hunting, fishing to excursion, rural and eco-tourism.

It refers mostly to the areas of Fruška Gora – the largest linden reserve in Europe, dotted with hundreds of kilometers of hiking, and forest trails, with beautiful picnic areas and numerous lakes, and a group of the nearby most famous Fruška Gora monasteries (Old and New Hopovo, Vrdnik, Krušedol monastery, Grgeteg, Jazak, Mala and Velika Remeta).

When it comes to sports-recreational, excursion, and fishing tourism, the Ruma excursion resort Borkovac with a lake suitable for fishing, rowing sports, and refreshment from the summer heat, a trim track and a hiking trail in the Borkovac Forest, an outdoor Olympic swimming pool, a spa center, and restaurants should be highlighted.

The reservoir Borkovac was built in 1970 and covers 42 hectares.

All mentioned facilities are located only 3 km from the city center where the Ruma Sports Center is located, so it can be concluded that Ruma offers ideal conditions for the development of all these forms of tourism.

The central Ruma’s church has an iconostasis painted by our famous painter Uroš Predić.
